Pengaruh Konten Vlog “Kimbab Family” Terhadap Pengetahuan Subscribers Mengenai Parenting

In today’s era, digital media is used as a mean of communication along with the increasing internet use by the public. It is a positive impact of communication technology improvement which generates new application related to communication such as social media. One of the most well-known social media is YouTube. YouTube has been a platform which gives people space to create and share various content such as family vlog. This kind of vlog shares some parenting knowledge needed by the society, since this kind of knowledge has not yet widely known. It is reflected by the high number in child abuse. In the cultivation theory, media has a huge influence in manufacturing perception, values and social change in a society. At first, this theory is concentrated on television and audience study. However, as communication technology improved, this theory can be applied in new media, such as social media. This research is aimed to analyze the impact of Kimbab Family’s vlog on subscribers’ knowledge on parenting using survey methods. The sample in this study was taken through random sampling. According to the simple regression linear analysis, it is known that the amount of Kimbab Family’s vlog influence on subscribers’ knowledge about parenting is 21,9%, while the other 78,1% is influenced by other variables outside this research.
